We didn’t, Ingrid. I actually turned back as soon as I saw that sign. 🙂 Kidding, but not really. We decided we’d have more fun (and be safer from random gunfire) by just heading to the river and watching the Spring Breakers. 🙂
I know all about this stuff. I lived in the same town as Sheriff Joe.
Oh dear. I can only imagine.
Great shot, Nancy. 🙂 I made John stop the car a few months ago so I could snap a picture of a sign that said “Public Hunting”. I can only hope they didn’t mean fair game on the public. 🙂
Hey Nance – I don’t know how close that is to the border, but a couple of years ago I was in Tucson, and it can get pretty scary down there! The checkpoints were a trip to drive through with all the dogs, and there was a government warning to not drive on route 8 especially at night. Definitely some shooting going on down there, and that sign is hilarious!
Lake Havasu is very close to the Nevada border. Just a couple hours from Vegas, so it’s a fun day trip for us – especially during Spring Break, when all the crazies are out. 🙂
More nipple pasties than you could shake a stick at. p.s. Some women should never, ever go braless.
Got it. Those kind of crazies are the worst. I would agree with your keen observation.
Obviously the sign was shot on this side of the line and it does not say do not to shoot the sign. Would shooting the sign be considered expression of the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights?
Crazy is right…I say with a smile. My sister-in-law iived in AZ and although only one state away, I always felt like coming in as a Californian made me suspect of something. LOL! I never relaxed–I thought it was the guns, but maybe it was just the heat! A great sign….I think it says it all. 🙂
Hehehehe!!! XOXO
Definitely made me laugh! 😀
Gah!! Extreme hiking … or extreme hunting. Not sure which
Probably both, Joanne.
Maybe you are supposed to unload your gun on that sign before you start hiking… Just get it out of your system and stuff.
Bahahaha! Not that right there is funny! 😀
Yep, that’s Arizona for ya…. still the wild west. Did you hike ‘Sara’s crack’?

It’s like a dare. I mean, they MUST shoot something to break the rule, no?? 🙂
Clearly.
It also served as a good deterrent. We turned back in favor of a walk by the (less gun-ny) river. 🙂
Made me chuckle 🙂
Those gun-loving Amuricans make me chuckle too, Linda.
Well, as long as they’re firing at signs in the middle of nowhere 😉
Certainly hope so!
hehehehe this sort of thing always makes my day! Thx Nance. Love your work. x
Haha! I can’t take credit. This is the work of those Amuricans! ! 🙂
LOL! We Americans love our irony. Even when we don’t use the word properly! 🙂
Heh! Absolutely! 🙂
Ha! Thanks for the laugh from the OK Corral! Yee Haw!!!
Gots to keep my l’il cowpokes smilin’!
hahahaha…
oh dear…but with out this sort of thing you would have fewer tales to regal me with…
(i mean blog about…this is not just for me is it…)
It’s all about you, Sam. 🙂
woohoo 🙂
the only child in me knows it is always all about me 😉
I wonder what my excuse is then??? I’m not an only child.
maybe everyone has an inner only child…
you just know how to let yours out 🙂
Yes! Apparently my inner child is a raging narcissist. 🙂
Hahaha they are like that 🙂
My inner child is an outer child 🙂
Brilliant!
Good to see your sense of humour is still intact after your ordeal yesterday!
Hahaha I have to laugh after yesterday!! I am just so glad it is over!!
You are a BEAST for having done that!
I do not know what got me through the last 3miles! Will power and another woman who was struggling!
Misery loves company! Can’t wait to read all about it.
😀 I need to get the post written before I block it out!!
Gun toting, right wing Republicans. Keep your head down Nancy.
I got the hell outta Dodge, sister.
I know all about this stuff. I lived in the same town as Sheriff Joe.

Snort! I wouldn’t put it past some nut jobs to take it that way. 🙂
whoooohooo….love this!
Spoken like a true Texan! 🙂

Well be careful around those crazies then!
More nipple pasties than you could shake a stick at. p.s. Some women should never, ever go braless.

Evidently no one is challenging the action. 🙂
I took that as my cue to hike in other parts. Better safe than sorry. 🙂
Now that’s crazy! I would probably take a hike 😱
Yep, I hiked straight on out of there!
Yeah, that would be you, Nancy 🙂
I can’t out-run a bullet!
Happy you didn’t need to!
Me too!

Only one state away, and yet worlds apart. 🙂
I adore signs like that. It’s like seeing society rally against the rule book. Makes me snort with laughter.
